Setup
Build a 60-card Main Deck and a 12-card Material Deck (holds Champions, Regalia, and other materialized cards).
Choose a starting Champion (Level 0) and place it in your Champion Zone. Champion Life is printed on the card (usually 25–30, less in Awakening).
Both players draw 6 cards and may mulligan.
Set the Memory gauge to 0. Memory grows over the game and gates when big plays come online.
How to play
- 1
Each turn: Wake up rested cards, gain Memory, draw a card, then take your Main Phase actions.
- 2
Spend Memory to play Allies, Actions, Attacks, Items, and Weapons.
- 3
Champions can be leveled up by playing a higher-level Champion card from your Material Deck on top — inheriting the previous form's effects.
- 4
Attack with an Ally or your Champion. The defender may block with a ready Ally.
- 5
Damage that gets through reduces the opposing Champion's Life. Reduce Life to zero to win.
- 6
The Material Deck is a small side deck — cards there are 'Materialized' at specific costs rather than drawn.
Anatomy of a turn
- 1
Wake up
Rested cards become ready.
- 2
Recollection
Gain 1 Memory (or more from effects).
- 3
Draw
Draw 1 card (skip on turn 1 for the first player).
- 4
Main
Play cards, attack, level up your Champion, activate abilities. There's a single main phase — combat happens within it.
- 5
End
Resolve end-of-turn triggers and hand off.
Rules to know
Memory
Your primary resource. Growing steadily each turn, Memory is refunded on some effects — good tempo management wins games.
Leveling
Champions have level tags. Higher-level Champions have stronger effects but require you to reach that Memory / Material threshold.
Materialize
Some cards live in your Material Deck instead of your Main Deck. Materialize them at defined costs — they never sit in your regular hand until played.
Allies & resting
Allies rest (tap) to attack, block, or use abilities. They wake up on your next turn's Wake Up phase.
Weapons & Regalia
Weapons and Regalia sit on your Champion to give attacks, buffs, and utility. Managing what's equipped matters as much as your board of Allies.
Win conditions
Reduce the enemy Champion's Life to zero.
Your opponent cannot draw a card when required.
Play smarter, faster
Level your Champion on curve — waiting on level-ups costs you power spikes.
Don't over-attack early. Losing an Ally to a bad block sets you behind on tempo.
The Material Deck is not a bonus — plan around Materializing costs as part of your normal Memory budget.
Weapons and Regalia stack up over the game. Keeping your Champion armed changes how threatening every attack is.
