Cookie Policy

Scrywire uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) to keep the site running. This page explains what each one does and how you can control them.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. We also use the browser's local storage and session storage in a similar way. Together, these let the site remember things across page loads — like the fact that you're signed in.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These are required for Scrywire to work and can't be turned off from inside the app. Without them you can't sign in.
- Auth session — set by our authentication provider to keep you signed in.
- CSRF / security tokens — protect against cross-site request forgery.
- Routing preferences — current game, theme, last-viewed table.
Functional
Remember choices you've made so the site behaves the way you expect.
- Display preferences — collapsed filters, table view, audio/video device selection.
- Post-auth redirect — remembers where to send you after sign-in.
Analytics
Help us understand how the Service is used in aggregate. We use privacy-respecting analytics that don't build cross-site advertising profiles. Where required by law, we ask for consent before enabling these.
Advertising
We don't run third-party advertising and we don't set advertising cookies.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by service providers we use, including our authentication and hosting providers. They are listed in the Privacy Policy under "Who we share it with".
4. How long they last
- Session cookies — deleted when you close the browser.
- Persistent cookies — last from a few days up to 12 months, depending on purpose.
5. How to control cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Be aware that blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and other essential features. Where we ask for consent for optional cookies, you can change your choice at any time from the cookie banner.
6. Changes
If we add or remove cookies, we'll update this page. Material changes will be announced in-app.
